CAMPUS SUMMARY
Wiley College, the first historically Black college west of the Mississippi, was founded in 1873 by Bishop Issac Wiley of the United Methodist Church and the Freedman's Aid Society to prepare newly emancipated people for the future. Through a tradition of education excellence and leadership, Wiley College became a pathway to scholarship, a vista of values, and a bulwark of integrity. Wiley College is committed to providing students with a broad liberal arts and career-oriented education in a Christian environment, promoting teaching and learning excellence, and improving the quality of human experience.

Wiley College is located in the Piney Woods of northeast Texas in the city of Marshall and serves the youth of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and consistently attracts students from throughout the United States and from many foreign countries.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Wiley College offers four-year programs leading to the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees. Also, an Associate of Arts degree may be obtained in Business Administrative Management (this is a two-year program). Additionally, a certificate in sociology and aging is offered at this institution. Wiley College accentuates the power of inquiry, command of language, ethical insight, critical thinking, and the search for values. The desired outcome is that Wiley College students will function effectively in a pluralistic, technological, rapidly changing, global society.
