CAMPUS SUMMARY
We are a unique, state-assisted institution of higher learning with a private charter. We embody the very best qualities of both major, public universities and smaller, prestigious private colleges: a large endowment (almost $1 billion); a beautiful campus; many small classes; an award-winning technology network; and a geographically mixed student body. We meet the needs of the best students from the state of Delaware; from every state in the nation, and from 100 other countries.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
The University Honors Program offers a small liberal arts college atmosphere featuring a large selection of small, enriched classes, talented faculty, personal attention, and imaginative extracurricular and residence hall programming. About 450-500 new students enter the program each year; Undergraduate Research offers research apprenticeships with faculty mentors to give talented, motivated undergraduates a chance to see and take part in what is happening on the front lines of discovery at UD today. About 600 students participate each year; Study Abroad began in the United States at the University of Delaware in 1923, and students can now choose from over 60 programs in over 25 countries. Study Abroad is available year-round.
