CAMPUS SUMMARY
Founded in 1950 by the Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville to provide a values-centered education to students of all races and faiths, Bellarmine merged with Ursuline College in 1968, becoming independent and coeducational. Bellarmine was named for St. Robert Bellarmine, a 16th-century Jesuit priest. Just five miles from downtown Louisville, Kentucky and the Ohio River, Bellarmine is set in the safe and beautiful Highlands neighborhood. The 135-acre campus features many facilities, including a 72,000 square foot library, a new campus center, a new residence hall, a new chapel, a golf course, and indoor tennis/sports and fitness center.
