CAMPUS SUMMARY
Elon University is a 4-year coeducational institution founded in 1889 by the United Church of Christ. The beautiful 575-acre campus is located adjacent to Burlington, NC in the Piedmont region of the state, with access in under an hour to major cities such as Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Chapel Hill, Durham, and Raleigh.
With approximately 4,500 students from 44 states and 36 countries, 50 major degree programs, and over 120 student organizations, Elon is able to offer students the opportunities of a university along with small classes, individual attention from professors, and a warm community atmosphere.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
The academic programs at Elon are distinguished by a philosophy of education that combines academic and experiential learning. The faculty strives to give students a well-rounded education supported by a strong liberal arts curriculum, in addition to great career preparation through the student's chosen field of study. The classroom environment is interactive and exciting, and outside of class Elon students are encouraged to participate in special programs known as the Elon Experiences. These include study abroad, internships, volunteer participation, leadership development, and student undergraduate research. Eighty-seven percent of Elon's graduates have studied abroad, while 78% have completed internships and over two-thirds have contributed volunteer hours in the community. Students can expect to find the faculty at Elon accessible as well as involved in campus life.
