CAMPUS SUMMARY
Mars Hill College, an academic community rooted in the Christian faith, challenges and equips students to pursue intellectual, spiritual, and personal growth. This growth is grounded in a rigorous study of the liberal arts, connected with the world of work, and committed to character development, service, and responsible citizenship in the community, the region, and the world. Mars Hill College, founded in 1856, is the oldest educational institution in western North Carolina.

Mars Hill College is located in the mountains of western North Carolina. This area provides our students with outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and snow skiing. Scenic attractions such as Mount Mitchell, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Craggy Gardens, Linville Falls and Caverns, Biltmore House and Gardens, and the Blue Ridge Parkway are within easy driving distance. The college is located 20 minutes north of Asheville, NC. Asheville has the sophisticated attractions of a major metropolis, and is known for its high-quality arts, crafts, and musical offerings.

UNIQUE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Students are at the center of the educational program at Mars Hill College. The college awards 30 majors. A unique program at Mars Hill College is our LifeWorks Learning Partnership. This program connects students to the world of work and supports the student's pursuit of intellectual, spiritual, and personal growth over their lifetimes. LifeWorks encompasses academic orientation and advising, campus ministry, experiential education, service learning, work study, and networking with alumni and friends. The comprehensive way LifeWorks supports learning beyond the classroom is part of what makes Mars Hill College distinctive among institutions of higher education.
