Eligibility and Enrollment Information
The Middle Grades Mathematics Series is designed for current middle grades mathematics teachers and for individuals who want to become certified or approved to teach middle grades mathematics but who are teaching at a different level or in a different field. It is expected that students enrolling in courses will hold a baccalaureate degree and be current or aspiring teachers. Students may use the SREB VESA application to enroll in the Middle Grades Mathematics Series courses if they meet the above eligibility and other requirements individual institutions may impose; e.g., prerequisite courses. Students must be admitted to an institution or participate through the SREB Visiting Student Program prior to enrollment. Each of the institutions participating in the Middle Grades Mathematics Series has admission categories, including degree and non-degree classifications. If you are currently admitted and enrolled in a degree program at an institution not participating in the Middle Grades Mathematics Series, you may be able to enroll as a "visiting" or "transient" student. Links to each institution and their application and enrollment procedures are available below.

Students must provide to SREB an official or unofficial transcript from the institution that awarded their degree. Credits earned as an SREB VESA student may be used to meet degree or certificate requirements. Institutions have final authority on the transfer, acceptance and use of any credits earned as an SREB VESA student. VESA students must meet all prerequisite course and/or eligibility requirements in order to enroll in a specific course stipulated by the offering institution. Students currently enrolled in a degree program with any institution are not eligible for the SREB VESA program. (Students may gain access to courses as "visiting" or "transient" students.) Students may use the VESA only at participating institutions and for specific courses at those participating institutions. VESA students may not enroll in more than 6 hours of course work in any term of study. Transcripts of work completed as an SREB VESA student are issued by the institution offering the course.
