Professional Development

Professional development is critical to both teachers' and students' success. Professional development improves and increases teachers' knowledge of the academic subjects taught and enables teachers to become highly qualified. Continuing education activities are an integral part of state, district, and school educational improvement plans. There are numerous options for teachers, to meet continuing education requirements, including credit and non-credit courses as well as opportunities to pursue a graduate degree while teaching. Better-trained teachers with up-to-date knowledge and skills are more likely to help students meet academic achievement standards.
