Passport to TeachingSM Certification is designed specifically for individuals first entering the teaching field or current teachers seeking a high-quality credential. Master Teacher Certification is designed for experienced teachers of high merit based on classroom effectiveness. Both certifications focus on subject area mastery and classroom preparation, ensuring that teachers have the skills to successfully impact student learning. Passport to TeachingSM tests for new teachers were first offered in Fall 2003 in a limited number of academic subject areas.
