CAMPUS SUMMARY
A small, independent liberal arts college for women located in Decatur, Georgia, six miles from downtown Atlanta, Agnes Scott College is consistently rated as one of best women's colleges in the country. With an enrollment of over 900, Agnes Scott boasts a student to faculty ratio of 10:1 with 100% of full-time tenure track faculty holding a Ph.D or terminal degree in their field. Governed by a strong Honor System and with a quality of life rated by The Princeton Review as third best in the nation.
Agnes Scott College, six miles from downtown is in many ways ideally located. The cultural amenities of metropolitan Atlanta are easily accessible yet the 100-acre campus is located in the residential neighborhood of Decatur. Proximity to Atlanta opens up a world of possibilities for our students -- academically and socially. Internship sites include CNN, The Carter Center, the High Museum of Art and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). At the same time, within easy walking distance of campus are the restaurants, coffee shops and galleries. Many students also take advantage of Agnes Scott's proximity to north Georgia, a mere hour away. The rural area of northern Georgia offers a wealth of outdoor recreational activities including camping, biking and backpacking.
